3. Can James Conner repeat his 2014 performance?

This question may seem really stupid, and honestly I will admit I have little doubt that Conner can repeat his performance from last season. However what happens if teams stack the box against Pittsburgh and make the Panthers win through the air? That will affect Conner’s stats at the end of the day.

There is also the fact that if Conner once again carries a heavy load he could break down as the season goes on or be prone to injuries. All these scenarios seem unlikely, but this spring game will be a nice glimpse of what shape Conner is in, how he looks running behind his offensive line, how he looks catching the ball out of the backfield and if he has improved any areas of his game.

Conner played last season at 250 lbs, which is a lot for even a power back, but if Conner was able to stay around that weight and add some more quickness or speed to his game, he could become a monster and go over the 2,000 yard mark.

This storyline may be a little dull, especially for the spring game, but there is always a chance it could be a big deal, and if that happens the Panthers are in big trouble.
