Questions Linger in the Trenches

Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing just how good the Mississippi State Bulldogs are in the trenches on either side of the football.

After great rushing and passing stats last year and a tough front line on the other side, the Bulldogs have to replace three of four defensive linemen and three of five offensive linemen.

And that calls everything that happened in this spring game into question. Mississippi State’s Maroon team had 106 yards rushing, and the White team had 96 yards rushing.

Meanwhile, the Marron team gave up four sacks while the white team gave up only one sack.

With so many new starters on both sides of the ball, it is extremely hard to gauge just how good the new guys on either side of the line are.

Nelson Adams was generating some hype on the line and picked up a sack, but so many other players who racked up stats are unproven in actual game experience for college football.

Again, that leaves everything up in the air. As a result, we have to say that we will not know anything about the lines for the Bulldogs until the season starts.
