player. 50.
Eddie Goldman is a bit of a risk to lots of people being taken this high because he never racked up too many stats at Florida State. But that is a completely unfair assertion. Goldman was a gigantic beast and had offensive lines focused solely on stopping him all year.

And he still managed to come through and make crucial plays.

At 6’4″ 336 pounds, Goldman is not that fast, but he blows up lines. He still managed four sacks last year despite missing four games, and he had a game-changing sack late against Clemson when the Seminoles won 23-17 in overtime to save their season and keep them in the College Football Playoff.

Goldman is a playmaker when needed, and the Detroit Lions are certainly going to be looking for somebody to replace Ndamukong Suh in the middle.

Goldman isn’t as intimidating and reckless as Suh, but he could still be very devastating, and perhaps that is a good thing. Suh’s recklessness got him into too much trouble.

Because of his speed, Goldman’s pass-rush won’t be great, but he is an amazing run-stopper, and managing four sacks as somebody who’s not a great pass rusher is pretty impressive.
. Defensive Tackle. Florida State Seminoles. Eddie Goldman. 23
