Eddie Goldman

DT, Florida State

Eddie Goldman is a big defensive tackle at 6-4 and 336 pounds who has legs as thick as tree trunks. He excels as an interior run defender with a strong base but could be limited to a one-gap defender in the NFL. He flashed some ability as a two-gap player at Florida State but nothing consistent enough where you are confident he can beat a double team.

He isn’t going to be a guy who creates a pass rush and collapses the pocket and needs to learn how to properly use his hands to keep linemen off his body. If he is viewed as a two-down defender, Goldman is going to slide out of the first round, but if there’s a team who thinks he can be more than that, he has a chance to slide into the bottom of the first round. I like him as a first rounder and think he’s a tough player who can be a dominant player, even if it’s only on run downs.
