Best-case scenario he’s Jamaal Charles and a contender to lead the NFL in rushing in a few years. That timeline could be accelerated if he lands with the Dallas Cowboys at No. 27 who own the league’s best offensive line.

Melvin Gordon
RB, Wisconsin
Melvin Gordon had a record-breaking year when he rushed for 2,587 yards, the second highest total in FBS history, and led the nation with 29 rushing touchdowns. He finished as the runner-up to Marcus Mariota for the Heisman Trophy and will be a first round pick.
Running backs haven’t gone in the first round for the last two drafts, but those drafts didn’t have a back with the agility, acceleration, vision and patience of the 6-1, 215-pound Gordon. He plays faster than his 4.53 time in the 40 would suggest and has a cut frame that could allow him to bulk up to 225 pounds without sacrificing his home run hitting speed.
Best-case scenario he’s Jamaal Charles and a contender to lead the NFL in rushing in a few years. That timeline could be accelerated if he lands with the Dallas Cowboys at No. 27 who own the league’s best offensive line.
