La’el Collins – LSU
La’el Collins has one of the strangest cases of any prospect this year. A week ago, Collins was a lock to be drafted in the top-20, but now he may not even be drafted at all after the Baton Rouge Police Department requested Collins for questioning about an ongoing murder investigation into his ex girlfriend.
This all happened a few days before the draft, and Collins promptly asked the NFL to remove his name from the draft. Rather, he wanted to enter the supplemental draft, but the NFL denied his request.
La’el Collins was arguably the top tackle in the draft. He’s a mauler and could be a bookend tackle for years in the NFL. It will be interesting to see if any team actually takes a chance on him early, or if he will completely fall out of the entire draft.
Teams to watch for: St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots
