Eric Kendricks – UCLA
Another borderline 1st round prospect, Eric Kendricks looks to be the first UCLA player drafted this year. Kendricks does not have a dynamic skill set, but he’s instinctive and always around the ball. He lacks elite size and speed, but makes up for it with his ability to diagnose plays and react. Kendricks was in the mix for the Packers, Cardinals, and Cowboys at the end of round one, but he fell.
A team at the top of the second is going to get a great player in Kendricks. He was a defensive captain at UCLA and is a high character guy. He has drawn comparisons to Cowboys inside linebacker Sean Lee, a very good NFL player. The former Butkus award winner will be on the top of a lot of team’s draft boards.
He will be competing with Benardrick McKinney and Denzel Perryman to be the first linebacker selected in the second, but I’d expect Kendricks to be picked first.
Teams to watch for: Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins
