Since his first season in Norman in 1999, Bob Stoops has dominated the Big 12. In his sixteen seasons as the head coach of Oklahoma football, Stoops’ Sooners have failed to finish either first or second in the conference only three times, winning eight Big 12 titles along the way.

Stoops’ Sooners dominated the first part of the new millennium, losing only seven games from 2000-2004, and winning the national title in 2001.

The rest of Stoops’ career has been much of the same, as Stoops has never had a losing season at Oklahoma or anywhere else. His coaching is invaluable, and he is easily one of the better coaches in the country.

Lon Kruger has coached basketball for a long time. His career has had its fair share of ups and downs, but in every single coaching job he’s had in the college ranks, he’s experienced some level of success.

Kruger has taken five different schools past the first round of the NCAA Tournament; his furthest appearance in the NCAA Tournament came back in 1994, when he led his Florida Gators to the Final Four.

Kruger has coached at Oklahoma since 2011, and each season he has a little more success. Kruger’s Sooners have made the NCAA Tournament in three of his four seasons in Norman, and last season, he led Oklahoma to the Sweet Sixteen.

Kruger and Stoops have both had successful careers but not enough success to move them higher in this list.
