Georgia at Vanderbilt

When: Saturday at 3:30 ET

Both teams open their conference schedule in Nashville. The total opened at 56 and is down to 52. Usually I won’t chase a number but still think the under is a great play. Vanderbilt’s Thursday night game against Western Kentucky was overshadowed by several higher profile games.

If you watched the game you saw a spectacular effort from the Commodores defense. Head coach Derek Mason is calling the plays this season and they made Western Kentucky’s offense look very poor. Western Kentucky isn’t in the biggest conference but they had one of the best scoring offenses in 2014. The other side of the ball was a problem for Vanderbilt and they only scored 12 points against a defense from Conference USA.

Georgia has a dynamic running game. I would expect a lot of work from running backs Nick Chubb, Keith Marshall and Sony Michel. Bulldogs quarterback Greyson Lambert is expected to make his first road start and I can see a conservative game plan. Georgia has bigger games coming up, including South Carolina next week and Alabama in three weeks. They just want to get out of Nashville healthy and don’t see them trying to run up the score.

Pick: Under 52
