Arizona Wildcats At Stanford Cardinal
The Line: Stanford -17.5
After a horrific performance against the UCLA Bruins, the defending South division champions have no time to rest or feel sorry for themselves, travelling to Palo Alto to take on the Cardinal. Stanford is coming off a solid win over the Oregon State Beavers, and they are looking to put their early season struggles behind them. This Cardinal team looks nothing like the group that went to Northwestern and lost.
Keys To The Game:
After scoring just six points in the opener, Stanford has now scored forty or more points in two straight weeks. They are still second in total defense in the conference, and may finally have teamed up good offense and good defense. Arizona, on the other sideline, is first in the conference in total offense, but 11th in total defense, ahead of only Oregon. If the Wildcats have any hope of competing against Stanford, they must improve on defense.
Prediction:
The Wildcats bounce back, but still cannot overcome a physically brutal Stanford team. Without Scooby Wright, Arizona struggles to stop the run, and the Cardinal rushing attack slowly grinds the Wildcats into dust. Arizona’s offense, with or without Anu Solomon, scores, but cannot keep up with Kevin Hogan and Stanford.
Final score: Stanford 45, Arizona 31.
