Florida State Seminoles

  • Miami at No. 12 Florida State
  • Point Spread: Florida State -9

This is a rivalry that never gets old. No matter what their records are, you can expect a battle. The Seminoles will be at home in Tallahassee in front of their ruckus crowd trying to get their team to 5-0 on the year. This will undoubtedly be their biggest test of the year having played games against sub-par opponents so far this early in the season.

The “Fire Al Golden” signs will quickly come down should Miami defeat their nemesis. There is still a lot to learn about this year’s Hurricanes, but they definitely don’t have a shortage of athletes on the team. Expect a fast paced tilt with an emphasis on the running game. Florida State’s Dalvin Cook and Miami’s Joseph Yearby are both capable of breaking off long runs and each can find the end zone.

While they might be similar at the RB position, the Seminoles have a veteran at quarterback in senior Everett Golson. Not only does Golson have experience in rivalries, he led the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the National Championship Game in his freshman year. Miami is led by their younger inexperienced quarterback Brad Kaaya, who has thrown for over 1000 yards already with five touchdowns and only one interception.

After the disappointing loss in Cincinnati, Miami must take full advantage of this opportunity to get going back in the right direction. The Hurricanes have lost the last five games to the Seminoles and have had enough. Can Jimbo Fisher and company make it six straight? Should be fun.
