They’re not doing anything special in particular they’re just beating the teams that they should be. The defense has seen significant improvement since the blowout losses to UCLA and Stanford, but they’re still not playing against tough opponents, which makes them hard to evaluate.
With Anu Solomon back, the offense is back on pace, which also opens up the running holes for Nick Wilson once again. When Anu Solomon is healthy, Arizona is scoring well above 40 points every game, which is right where they were last year, when they won the Pac-12 south.
They have a game at Colorado this weekend that could cause some trouble for Arizona and catch them off guard. But Arizona has found themselves in a good position right now and are in position to win three each of their next three games.
Now, Arizona is not a great time just yet but given the way the Pac-12 shaking up thus far there’s still an outside chance for them to compete for the south and reclaim maybe the second or third best spot in the Pac-12 South. Their success solely relies on their offense which translates over to the defense, because when they’re offense is going, their defense is able to get some stops doesn’t need to be heavily relied on.
