College Football 2015: Five biggest surprises of first half

Iowa Hawkeyes
Just when you think Kirk Ferentz is out, he pulls you back in.
I had Iowa pegged as a seven-eight win team this year, and that was with them playing in the weak Big Ten West division and a non-conference slate that wouldn’t intimidate anyone. Here we are halfway through the year and Iowa has seven wins and nary a loss as they are in the driver’s seat to win the division and get to the Big Ten Championship Game.
Heck, they’re in the driver’s seat with the seat reclined, cruise control on and the radio blasting, because they have an easier path to the Big Ten Championship Game than both Ohio State and Michigan State.
If Iowa can manage some injuries they’ve had to their running backs, this team doesn’t face a team that should present many challenges. Iowa already has wins over Wisconsin and Northwestern and a down Nebraska is the only team likely to present a challenge the rest of the way. Iowa is going undefeated? Yes, Iowa look like they’re going to run the table in the regular season. Who saw that one coming?!
