Last but certainly not least (well, Wyoming actually is the least populated state in the U.S.), is Rock Springs, Wyoming native Jack Snow, who played wide receiver at Notre Dame from 1962-64 and earns the destination as the greatest football player born in Wyoming.

Snow earned consensus All-American honors for the Fighting Irish as a senior in 1964 by catching 60 passes for 1,114 yards and nine touchdowns, all of which were school records. He also also set a new school record with 217 receiving yards in a single game against Wisconsin. Snow’s performance earned him a top-five finish in the voting for the Heisman Trophy behind his teammate, quarterback John Huarte, and the 9-1 Irish finished No. 3 in the final AP Poll.

Though he only caught 10 passes for 128 yards combined between his sophomore and junior seasons, Snow also set a Notre Dame school record with 1,242 career receiving yards. After his college career was over, Snow was drafted with the No. 8 overall pick in the 1965 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Snow played with the Rams until 1975, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1967. He also served as the team’s wide receivers coach in 1982, spent time with the team’s radio broadcast team and also acted in television and movies.
