16. Urban Meyer

Like Jim Harbaugh, having Urban Meyer as a part of the game is important, but for entirely different reasons. Harbaugh is fun to watch. Meyer is outright infuriating if he’s not your coach.

Meyer is the guy who everyone but everyone loves to hate, except for the fans and players on his own team. He produces winners and championships at every stop, and manages to do it in such a way as to annoy the crud out of everyone else in the country.

He makes the teams in every conference in which he coaches better, and he makes recruiting a nightmare for the coaches in that conference.

Bottom line, Urban Meyer wins. You may not like how he does it (or what he leaves behind once he’s gone), but he knows how to make players reach their potential and how to put programs on the map. Be thankful we’ve got him, because he can draw together common enemies like no one else.
