With a 38-17 victory over LSU Saturday night in Oxford, the Ole Miss Rebels kept their SEC Championship hopes alive. If the Rebels can survive the Egg Bowl game against Starkville next weekend (where no Ole Miss team has won since 2003), and Auburn finds a way to knock off Alabama in the Iron Bowl, Ole Miss will play in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta for the first time in school history.

Quarterback Chad Kelly is the biggest reason Ole Miss is still in the hunt in the SEC. Kelly completed 19 of 34 pass attempts for 280 yards and two touchdowns and led the Rebels with 81 rushing yards and two more TDs on 12 carries. The junior helped the Rebels build a 24-0 lead in the first half, and then led the charge to pull away in the fourth quarter after the Tigers scored 17 straight points to pull within 24-17 with ten minutes left in the game.

Laquon Treadwell had four receptions for 58 yards and caught his team-leading eighth touchdown and tight end Evan Engram found the end zone for the second time this season during a season-best performance that included five catches and 58 receiving yards. Akeem Judd gained 61 rushing yards on 12 carries and Jaylen Walton added 15 yards and a TD as Ole Miss ran for 152 yards.

The Ole Miss defense surrendered 508 yards of total offense, including 108 rushing yards for Leonard Fournette and a career-high 324 passing yards for Brandon Harris, but the Rebels forced three turnovers to limit scoring opportunities. In fact, Ole Miss kept Fournette out of the end zone for the first time this season.
