3. Syracuse Orange – Dino Babers replaces Scott Shafer

Syracuse has been an afterthought in the ACC when it comes to the football program that couldn’t get any traction under Scott Shafer so he was canned after a three-win season. With the program needing an injection of hope and excitement, Syracuse hired Dino Babers, one day after he led Bowling Green to the MAC Championship.

Babers spent the last two years at Bowling Green where he played for the conference championship both years. Before that, he cut his teeth on his first head coaching job at Eastern Illinois and won the division both years and left after a 12-2 record and a No. 4 ranking in the FCS. He spent four years as an assistant under Art Briles at Baylor and brings that same explosive offense with him to Syracuse.

This program needed some juice and I think Babers is going to deliver some eight-win seasons beginning as early as 2017. Syracuse fans should be stoked about this hire.
