Allen told Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman that Oklahoma is a school of interest and this makes complete sense. Baker Mayfield went from walk-on to Heisman candidate after transferring from Texas Tech to Oklahoma. He only has one more year at Oklahoma, so he’d play while Allen sits out the mandatory year for transferring.

Oklahoma is a college football blue blood and Bob Stoops is one of the best coaches of all-time so he doesn’t need to worry about entering an unstable coaching situation. Allen has the talent to flourish in Lincoln Riley’s offense and would be the cornerstone of their offense. We’ve seen what Mayfield can do and they share some unique throwing and running qualities, which could make this is a perfect fit.

While they do have Cody Thomas in the works, Oklahoma would be missing out on a high-upside quarterback if they didn’t pursue Allen, especially when he came out and said they are on his mind.
