San Diego State vs. Cincinnati
Honolulu | Aloha Stadium
Dec. 24, 8 p.m. on ESPN
Talk about two programs going in different directions, you’ve got it here. Cincinnati, who under Brian Kelly became one of the best non-P5 teams in the nation has regressed terribly under Tommy Tuberville, and is now seeing an exodus of recruits.
San Diego State finished with their best record in a decade and took down Air Force to win the Mountain West Championship. The Aztecs bring the number ten scoring defense in the nation, only giving up 17 points per game, while the Bearcats depend on offense to win since their defense has been essentially a non-factor.
The Bearcats are in a tailspin of season, and Tuberville needs a bowl win if he hopes for any chance of returning. Unfortunately, he just doesn’t have the horses.
Line: Cincinnati, -1.5
If you watched the Bearcats give up 65 points to USF, you know why this is a ridiculous line. Take the Aztecs to win this one going way.
