Evan Engram 2015 Season Statistics

  • Games Played: 13
  • Receptions: 38
  • Receiving Yardage: 464
  • Yards Per Catch: 12.2
  • Receiving Yards Per Game: 35.7
  • Receiving Touchdowns: 2
  • Notable: Caught only two passes in first three games of 2015. Caught six passes for 96 yards in 48-20 Sugar Bowl victory over Oklahoma State.

Following a eight-game freshman debut in 2014 in which he earned second team All-SEC honors, followed by a 2015 performance that made him a first-teamer when he caught 38 passes for 662 yards and two touchdowns, Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram entered 2015 with All-American aspirations. Instead, Engram had just two receptions that totaled 27 yards through the first three games of the season.

Engram recovered with 437 yards and two scores over his final ten games, and finished tied for second with 38 receptions, but it was still a somewhat disappointing season for one of the SEC’s most unique playmakers. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds, Engram is roughly the same size as Laquon Treadwell and Damore’ea Stringfellow, which allows him to split out wide or line up as a traditional tight end. That flexibility allows Ole Miss to exploit matchups with smaller defensive backs or slower linebackers.

With Treadwell off to the NFL, and Cody Core out of eligibility, expect Engram to team up with the SEC’s leading passer, Chad Kelly, to post his best numbers yet in 2016.
