A South Carolina Gamecock who left his mark as one of the greatest to ever play in Columbia, South Carolina. He came in and produced immediately for the Gamecocks, built like a man at the ripe age of 18. Checking at 6’2” 228-pounds, this was a kid you didn’t want to mess with.

He ended up winning the Heisman Trophy in 1980 and earning Consensus first-team All-American honors. From there, the New Orleans Saints took him first in the 1981 NFL Draft.

Rogers exploded onto the scene to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and was named to the Pro Bowl for each of his first two seasons with the Saints.

He then went on to win Super Bowl XXII. His career in New Orleans ended after just four seasons, which led him to Washington where he was never quite as productive. He lasted for three seasons before calling it quits.

While he had a short NFL career, even shorter than your limelight running back, his success translated into the professional level and will go down as a top running back in this league.
