Baylor Bears

Sept 2 – Northwestern State – Prediction: W 65-7

No team is looking forward to week one than the Baylor Bears. After an off season defined by Art Briles’ departure the Bears will be revved up and ready to go against the FCS Demons. This will be Seth Russell’s first game back after a neck injury sidelined him for the second half of last season. Russell will get off to a great start as Baylor wins big.

Sept 10 – SMU – Prediction: W 49-17

Chad Morris’ squad will show a little more fight than last year against the Bears, but the high-flying offense will put away the Mustangs in the second half.

Sept 17 – @Rice – Prediction: W 56-7

Baylor takes care of last cupcake opponent of their non-conference schedule.

Sept 24 – Oklahoma State – Prediction: L 38-42

Mason Rudolph and James Washington prove to be too much in this early matchup between Big12 title contenders.

Oct 1 – @Iowa State – Prediction: W 35-21

The Cyclones usually pull off at least one upset a year in Jack Trice stadium, however, this will not be the one. Baylor has fared well against Iowa State in recent years, this year will prove no different.

Oct 15 – Kansas – Prediction: W 56-10

Not much to say about this one. Kansas is still a few years from competing against top Big12 teams.

Oct 29 – @Texas – Prediction: W 28-17

Baylor pulls away late against an improved Texas team.

Nov 5 – TCU – Prediction: L 21-24

The Revivalry has been arguably the best Big 12 matchup in recent years, Baylor falls to the Horned Frogs for the second straight years after TCU’s defense holds up.

Nov 12 – @Oklahoma – Prediction: L 21-38

The Sooners will be rolling by this time and will not lose at home handing the Bears their second straight loss.

Nov 19 – Kansas State – Prediction: W 35-28

Baylor gets back on track with a hard-fought win against a Bill Snyder team that puts up a fight.

Nov 25 – Texas Tech – Prediction: W 49-35

Patrick Mahomes doesn’t have enough to overcome the porous Tech defense, Baylor wins in a game filled with offense.

Dec 3 – @West Virginia – Prediction: L 24-28

The Bears, already out of contention for the Big 12 crown, overlook a solid Mountaineers team and fall on the road.

Final Record: 8-4 (5-4 Big 12) 5th place in Big 12
