Big 12 Football: Predicting win-loss records for every team
By Scott Popp
Oklahoma Sooners
Sept 3 – Houston – Prediction: W 38-35
One of the premier top non-conference match-ups of the season in the Big 12 this will be an exciting game between two top quarterbacks. Oklahoma’s quarterback and backfield combo is too much for the Cougars as they win late.
Sept 10 – UL Monroe – Prediction: W 56-3
Easy win in the Sooners only cupcake matchup of the season.
Sept 17 – Ohio State – Prediction: W 21-17
Another big time non-conference matchup another win for the Sooners. Ohio State’s lack of experience shows as they are yet to find their groove after losing so many stars from a year ago. The Sooners capitalize and take the win at home.
Oct 1 – @TCU – Prediction: W 35-21
TCU’s lack of starters returning on offense shows as Oklahoma wins their Big 12 play opener
Oct 8 – Texas – Prediction: W 21-10
The Red River Showdown is too much for true freshman Longhorn quarterback Shane Buechele, Oklahoma gets the bragging rights.
Oct 15 – Kansas State – Prediction: W 38-35
The Sooners avoid the Wildcats upset bid and hold on late to stay perfect.
Oct 22 – @Texas Tech – Prediction: L 38-31

Oct 29 – Kansas – Prediction: W 49-10
Sooners get back on track against the garbage fire that is Kansas football.
Nov 3 – @Iowa State – Prediction: W 42-14
Cyclones are no match for the Sooners. Baker Mayfield’s Heisman campaign gains steam.
Nov 12 – Baylor – Prediction: W 38-21
Oklahoma beats Baylor for the second straight season.
Nov 19 – @West Virginia – Prediction: W 24-16
Possibly a trap game for the Sooners, however, the Perine/Mixon running back duo is able to help Oklahoma grind out the win.
Dec 3 – Oklahoma State – Prediction: W 45-42
This year’s version of bedlam is as good as its ever been. A back and forth game ends with Oklahoma kicking a game winning field goal in the dying seconds to punch their ticket to the college football playoff for the second straight year.
Final Record 11-1 (9-1 Big12) 1st place in Big 12
