2. D’Andre Swift

  • Philadelphia, PA
  • 247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 31
  • Position Ranking: No. 1 All-purpose back

The first word that came to my mind when I watched Swift run was elusive. He is very difficult to bring down and perhaps what makes him one of the top backs in this class is his ability to absorb contact and keep on running. Even when he got hit, he would not lose stride. He would just keep on going.

In 2015, he rushed the rock 164 times for 1,029 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those numbers were slightly down from the year before when he ran 1,045 yards and 12 touchdowns on only 137 carries.

Currently, he has 23 offers in total with Penn State, Georgia, and Florida State some of the bigger names in the mix. On May 25, he announced his Top Five schools and that trio was part of the group. In addition, he received coach visits from Miami and Florida  State the week prior.

Penn State seems like a great fit for Swift. With three upperclassman running backs on the roster this upcoming season, by the time he could commit to the Nittany Lions, there could be the chance that he could get playing time right away.

Prediction:  Penn State
