9. Devan Barrett

  • Tampa , FL
  • 247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 242
  • Position Ranking: No. 17

Barrett is an elusive running back who is not afraid to take contact and he can bounce off tacklers with ease. He does a nice job of scanning the field while he runs and is not afraid to cut back a time or two in order to gain extra yards. Once he is in the open field, he does a nice job of accelerating and finding paydirt.

With 41 offers in total, Barrett has gained interest from many programs. Just from within the Sunshine State, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Florida, Florida State, Miami, UCF, and USF have all extended offers his way.

The Gators seem like the best fit for Barrett. Out of the five running backs on the roster currently, two will be juniors, and one will be a senior by the time Barrett announces his commitment for the fall. Florida needs the depth at the running back position as well as time for a new running back commit to adjust to the system. Barrett would give the Gators an explosive playmaker out of the backfield.

Prediction: Florida
