Recruiting: Predicting where top 10 uncommitted running backs sign
8. Colin Wilson
- Green Cove Springs, FL
- 247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 177
- Position Ranking: No. 13
Wilson is a two-way type of back. He is very dangerous out of the backfield as a receiver and does a nice job of getting yards after the catch, something we normally see reserved for wide receivers. Once he gets into open space, he excels at getting into open space and juking defenders, keeping plays alive.
In the 2015 campaign, he put up admirable numbers, rushing the ball 93 times for 490 yards and 12 touchdowns. His best season to date came in 2014 when he rushed the rock 218 times for 1,555 yards and 27 touchdowns. That year, he also put up respectable numbers through the air as he caught six passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
Where will he call home? Right now, there are three teams that seem most likely to land the coveted prospect. Clemson, Florida, and Louisville all appear in a position to do so. Clemson would be the best fit. The style of offense that Clemson runs, a big-play, up-tempo juggernaut would fit well with how Wilson plays.
Prediction: Clemson
