The TCU Horned Frogs had one of the nation’s best wide receivers in Josh Doctson. But Doctson and TCU’s No. 2 receiver Kolby Listenbee are both of and in the NFL. With those departures, that opens the door for sophomore Kavontae Turpin to be an even bigger threat for the Horned Frogs this season.

As a freshman last year, Turpin recorded 45 receptions for 649 yards and eight touchdowns. He also added 116 yards on the ground on 20 carries. Turpin was also the Horned Frogs primary returner as he recorded 729 yards on 27 kickoff returns and 181 yards and a touchdown on 18 punt returns.

In 2016, Turpin should become TCU’s all around, big play threat. He was named to the Maxwell Award watch list as a sophomore this offseason.
