Dalvin Cook is a special type of talent. Not only has he put up some incredible numbers in two years at Florida State, but he had a career season in 2015 despite being hampered by a nagging hamstring injury.

The popular opinion around Tallahassee is that Cook is very close to becoming the best running back in Florida State history. Warrick Dunn holds the all-time yards record with just over 3,900 and Cook needs just about 1,200 this year to surpass the mark. It took Dunn four years to reach that total and Cook could pass it in less than three.

Also, he is just 17 touchdowns away from breaking that mark as well. The all-time record is 44 set by Greg Allen and Cook has 29 — including 19 last season.

The elusive, speedy running back has added weight this offseason to help him bull over would-be tacklers. He has the ability to break tackles, but with a little more muscle, he could be virtually impossible to bring down on the first hit.

Battling that hamstring injury in 2015, Cook still managed to put up 1,691 yards and 19 touchdowns on 7.4 yards per carry. He was an All-ACC first-team talent and he will be in the race for Heisman yet again this season.
