  • Career Stats: 2,884 passing yards, 21 TDs, 10 Ints
  • 2015 Stats: 2,884 passing yards, 21 TDs 10 Ints

At of the start of fall camp, the college football world still does not know who Head coach Brian Kelly will start at quarterback in the fall between DeShone Kizer or Malik Zaire for Notre Dame in 2016. If I were Kelly, however, I would go with the quarterback that got his team through last season and completely went all out.

Kizer had an excellent debut season after coming in for the injured Zaire in the Virginia game. In that game, Kizer threw the game-winning touchdown and seemingly never looked back as he helped lead the Fighting Irish to the Fiesta Bowl.

Kizer not only has a live arm but also has the legs to make plays. He rushed for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns last season to go with his passing stats. Kizer will have a retooled offensive line and new receivers in 2016, but will also be able to rely on a strong backfield in close games.

Brian Kelly has a tough decision to make for 2016 but Kizer has the most upside and proven ability to lead the team.
