The Crimson Tide proved why they’re the favorites to win yet another national championship with a 52-6 beatdown on the USC Trojans. The quarterback situation hasn’t been resolves quite yet, but both Jalen Hurts and Blake Barnett looked solid in their Alabama debuts.

As for the rest of the field, the two Big Ten contenders in Ohio State and Michigan looked as dominant as advertised. Both teams are looking to solidify themselves as national title contenders, so we’ll have to keep an eye on both throughout the year.

Clemson’s game against Auburn may have been a little too close for comfort, but with Heisman hopeful Deshaun Watson at quarterback, they still feel like they can compete with the best that the rest of the nation has to offer.
