Number 13. Mississippi State

Week 1 result: (0-1) 21-20 Loss to South Alabama

Mississippi State coaches and fans knew that life after Dak Prescott was going to be tough, but this tough?

Mississippi State AD Scott Striklin might want to get the Dallas Cowboys on the phone and see if he can get Dak back after the loss to South Alabama last Saturday. The Bulldogs stormed out to a 17-0 halftime lead but quickly found themselves unable to score, and unable to stop the momentum that the Jaguars had in the second half.

Bulldog fans have a right to be concerned, the defense was flat and the offense just doesn’t seem to have the firepower it once had. Dan Mullen will try to get his players to regroup and come back strong in week two.

Next Game: Saturday, September 10, vs. South Carolina 7:00 ET ESPN2
