College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 3
By Zach Bigalke
In a game where the opening kickoff was pushed back over an hour due to lightning in the area, Ohio State showed no signs of having cooled off from warmups when the teams finally got to take to the field in Norman. The Buckeyes rolled up a 35-17 lead by halftime, with J.T. Barrett throwing four touchdown passes before the intermission and tailback Curtis Samuel nearing 100 yards rushing. Though they allowed over 400 yards to the Sooners, the Ohio State defense clamped down when it became imperative to do so.
After watching Florida State lose above them, the Buckeyes figure to bump up into the second spot when the Top 25 poll is released tomorrow. Home games against Rutgers and Indiana will give Urban Meyer’s crew a chance to rest and regroup after this tough road non-conference showdown in Week 3, and their next real test comes October 15 when they travel to face Wisconsin in Madison.
