College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 3
By Zach Bigalke
Colorado put a scare into the Wolverines at the Big House, rolling off three touchdowns and nearly 200 yards in the first quarter and taking a 21-7 lead. Then their first drive into the second quarter ended with Diego Gonzalez missing a 36-yard field goal, and all the momentum seemed to drain away from the Buffaloes. From there Michigan closed things down, allowing just 126 more yards to the visitors as they ran away with a 17-point victory. Jabrill Peppers returned a punt for a touchdown, Wilton Speight threw for 229 yards, and it ended up being an easy victory for Michigan.
The Wolverines will remain in Ann Arbor for another two weeks, welcoming Penn State and Wisconsin to Michigan Stadium over the next two weeks, before finally leaving town for their first road game of the season at Rutgers on October 8. After earning a first-place vote in last week’s Top 25, they could get a few more this week after Florida State’s defeat.
