SEC Football: Week Three Power Rankings
2. Texas A&M (3-0)
Last week rank: 3
Week 3 result: 29-16 win against Auburn
Has there been a more impressive SEC team to this point in the season than Texas A&M? That would be a no.
Entering a season in which the Aggies really did not have expectations, A&M has responded and took down UCLA and then this past weekend went into a hostile Jordan Hare Stadium and beat Auburn. Trevor Knight continues to look good behind center, making plays and keeping the mistakes to a minimum. Most impressive and surprising has been Texas A&M’s defense. A defense that has had trouble in recent seasons with allowing offenses to run or pass all over them has done well with the teams that they have faced so far, particularly in the game against UCLA.
Texas A&M faces Arkansas at home in College Station in an SEC West showdown this coming Saturday in what will be a game that will show just what both of these teams are made of.
