College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 4
By Zach Bigalke
Washington fell early to the Wildcats in Tucson, which has been a house of horrors for many a Pac-12 team over the years. Chris Petersen’s team allowed Arizona’s sophomore quarterback Brandon Dawkins to finish the first quarter a perfect 9-of-9 passing. Though there is still plenty of time, this spot in the poll works under the assumption that Washington pulls off a late, tough victory against a team outside the AP Top 25. Should they lose they will drop even further.
Before the end of October, Washington also has to play Stanford, Oregon, and Utah — the latter two on the road. If they can get through November atop the Pac-12 North standings, the preseason hype surrounding the Huskies will be completely validated and they will have cemented their position high in the AP Top 25. But first they still have to survive the late game on Saturday, and even if they do prevail in the end it is possible that pollsters will drop them a few spots anyway.
