College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 5
By Zach Bigalke
Arkansas did what they were expected to do as an AP Top 25 team against an FCS school, dominating Alcorn State 52-10 on Saturday. Freshman Devwah Whaley and sophomore Rawleigh Williams III both ran for over 100 yards as the Razorbacks totaled 353 rushing yards. Austin Allen added 206 passing yards and three touchdowns on just 18 attempts. The defense kept the Braves out of the endzone, though they allowed over 300 yards to the FCS offense.
Now the stakes jump a whole lot higher for Bret Bielema’s crew. The Razorbacks host Alabama and Ole Miss the next two Saturdays, critical games if Arkansas is to have a shot at the SEC West title this year. They’re already a loss down in conference play after nearly getting doubled up by Texas A&M, so their margin for error is thinning. There are no more automatic victories left on the schedule.
