College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 5
By Zach Bigalke
Nothing seemed to be going right for Louisville in the first half of their showdown against Clemson on Saturday. The Tigers took a 28-10 lead into the locker room at halftime. Then Lamar Jackson showed why he’s the Heisman favorite midway through the 2016 season. Scoring 26 unanswered points to open the second half, the Cardinals stole back the momentum. Clemson took the lead, but Louisville had a chance to win in the final minute. Jackson hit Quick with a pass on the left, but the receiver stepped out of bounds before the marker and the Cardinals fell on the road..
Louisville now needs Florida State to knock off Clemson when those two teams play in Tallahassee in a few weeks. A couple of home games against Duke and NC State await Louisville after a bye week, the first on a Friday night. There are no real obstacles remaining on the ACC schedule, and the Cardinals should be favored in every remaining conference game. The showdown with Houston on November 17 remains the biggest test left for Louisville.
