College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 6
By Zach Bigalke
Tennessee threatened to end Texas A&M’s unbeaten streak on Saturday, but the Aggies held on in overtime by nabbing an interception on the final play of the game. Trevor Knight threw for 239 yards and ran for another 110 and racked up five total touchdowns on the day. That included the game-winning score in the second overtime period. All told the Aggies had 590 yards of offense against a Vols team that was allowing just 361 yards per game to opponents. The win over another top-ten team could result in a bump in the Top 25 over idle Louisville as a result.
Kevin Sumlin’s squad still has a lot of work to do this season. They get a well-deserved rest next weekend before traveling to Tuscaloosa to take on top-ranked Alabama on October 22. The game will likely pit a pair of undefeated teams and will be for control of the SEC West. The Aggies have already played half of their SEC games so far, meaning that they are in good shape to head to Atlanta if they can knock off the Crimson Tide.
