I already know that I’m going to get some nasty comments on this one. San Diego State’s Donnel Pumphrey is an absurdly talented running back who has been putting up some monster numbers. However, Pumphrey has yet to play against a legitimate defense.

The San Diego State running back currently leads the nation with 891 yards rushing, adding nine scores on the ground. He has had over 100 total yards in every game this season while also putting up two games with over 200 yards and three touchdowns against California and Northern Illinois.

It’s hard to not put Pumphrey at No. 1 on the running back power rankings, but the fact is that there are some other backs in the nation putting up big numbers against top-tier opponents.
