College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 7
By Zach Bigalke
Entering their game against Ohio State ranked 76th nationally in rushing average, the Badgers finally remembered how to run the football on Saturday night. Corey Clement looked resurgent, rushing for nearly 200 yards as Wisconsin held the lead for most of the game. But Ohio State managed to tie the game in the fourth quarter and force overtime, and luck ran out in Madison. The Badgers shouldn’t fall too far down the Top 25, but they will be in double digits yet again after failing to hold on for the upset.
The Badgers can’t linger too long on the loss to Ohio State, as they head on the road next weekend to face Iowa. After the Hawkeyes, Wisconsin ends October with a home showdown against unbeaten Nebraska for position at the top of the Big Ten West. November begins with a road game against Northwestern. Illinois then comes to Madison on November 12 before a road game the following weekend at Purdue. The regular season ends with the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe against Minnesota at Camp Randall Stadium.
