Devonte Fields. 32. player. 47. . EDGE. Louisville

The New England Patriots could use a pass rushing threat like Louisville defensive end Devonte Fields. The Patriots draft him with the last pick of the first round in this week’s mock draft.

They are very thin at the defensive end position at the moment.

Field’s inconsistency could raise some red flags, but maybe playing for the New England Patriots organization could change that sentiment.

Fields was fourth in the ACC in sacks last season with 10 and third in tackles for loss with 22. This season, he’s got two sacks, two tackles for loss, an interception, and two pass break ups.

Halfway through the season, Fields could start to get things going, as the Louisville Cardinals enter the bulk of their conference schedule.
