player. 35. . DE. Tennessee. Derek Barnett. 5

How convenient, a kid attending the University of Tennessee gets drafted by the Tennessee Titans. That’s the way it is for Volunteers defensive end Derek Barnett at the moment.
He’s the fifth pick in our mock draft.

Barnett is an aggressive force for the Volunteers defense. His defensive prowess could certainly bring back memories of legendary Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse.

The junior defensive end is fourth in the SEC in sacks with five and third in tackles for loss with 10 on the season. He brings leadership and is an aggressive pass rusher off the edge. He is a strong and powerful athlete who is still developing into a complete player.

The Titans could certainly use his services alongside 2016 draftee defensive end Kevin Dodd out of Clemson. Dodd has one start and a sack so far on the year.
