3. Oklahoma Sooners (Record: 4-2)

Given how good Kansas State’s defense has been, the Sooners’ four-point lead head headed into the half was reason for the Oklahoma to be optimistic in the second-half of play. Baker Mayfield and Dede Westbrook have made for one of the most entertaining QB-WR combos in the conference. And in the Sooners 38-17 victory, Mayfield threw for 346 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Westbrook accounted for nine receptions for 184-yards, and three touchdowns, but the most impressive stat this season is that he’s averaging 16.9 yards-per-catch, making him incredibly illusive and hard to contain. This will be an issue for the Texas Tech secondary, which had a hard time tackling receivers against West Virginia.

On Monday morning, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops announced running back Samaje Perine is out 2-3 weeks for a leg injury, leaving Abdul Adams and Joe Mixon as its only scholarship running backs to rely on.
