College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 8
By Zach Bigalke
The Broncos had to work hard to remain unbeaten against a rising Eastern Michigan team on Saturday. Zach Terrell was nearly perfect at quarterback for Western Michigan, completing 29 of his 35 attempts for 398 yards and three touchdowns, only a solitary interception marring his performance. Jarvion Franklin and Jamauri Bogan combined for 143 yards and three scores on the ground. Meanwhile the defense gave up 461 yards but forced two critical turnovers to keep the margin null on the day.
This might be the only window of opportunity Western Michigan gets to make a run in the Top 25 for a long while, with P.J. Fleck increasingly looking like a hot commodity for Power Five schools. They get next weekend off before a Tuesday-night #MACtion showdown on the first of November at Ball State. WMU plays on Tuesday two weeks in a row, following up the game against the Cardinals with another road game against Kent State. The regular season concludes with home games against Buffalo and Toledo, with the latter likely deciding the winner of the MAC West.
