If for some odd reason you weren’t sold on this Alabama Crimson Tide team being the best team in the country, now you should be after their 33-14 win against Texas A&M. It’s pretty simple right now: This Alabama team is just a step ahead everybody else.

Alabama was just up 20-14 before Jonathan Allen’s scoop and score to extend their lead. Saturday’s win makes it now 20 straight for the Crimson Tide, and Allen’s touchdown continued an even more impressive streak, 10 straight games with a defensive or special teams touchdown. That makes 12 touchdowns on the year for the defense and special teams.

Alabama Crimson Tide football at its finest.

However Alabama suffered a big loss on Saturday. Senior safety Eddie Jackson broke his leg on a punt return and will be out for the remainder of the season.

After what many thought would be a tough three game stretch in Arkansas, Tennessee and A&M, neither team came closer than 19 points of the Crimson Tide. Now Alabama will enjoy a well-deserved bye week, before heading to LSU.

If you look at their schedule, it now opens up a little bit for Nick Saban and Alabama. They have to go to LSU this week, but then have three straight home games to finish the year in Mississippi State, Chattanooga and Auburn. This team looks more than capable to repeat as national champions.
