Week 8 College Football Power Rankings
By Elias Arnett
After trailing 14-10 heading into halftime, Nebraska pulled away from Purdue in the second half, leaving them scoreless. With the win on Saturday, the Cornhuskers now have their best start to the season since 2001.
However the Nebraska faithful might be a little worried, as they were a 24-point favorite heading into their game against the Boilermakers. Their games haven’t been pretty, as linebacker Josh Banderas mentioned after the game, but a win’s a win, and that’s all that matters right now.
Like mentioned in previous weeks, this Nebraska team will go as far as their quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. will take them. On Saturday he passed for 252 yards on 17-31 passing with one touchdown and one interception. He has now thrown an interception in three straight games, which is a little worrisome.
But how good is this Nebraska team? Many question if the Cornhuskers even deserve a top 10 ranking, which I think is rather absurd, but we’re about to find out how good they actually are. In the next two weeks Nebraska has to go to Wisconsin and Ohio State. Pretty brutal stretch huh? There hasn’t been much talk about this team so far this season, but two wins in the next two weeks and all talk will be about the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
