College Football: 10 Highest Paid Coaches in NCAA in 2016
4. Bob Stoops
Total Annual Salary:$5,550,000
Hands down the longest tenured coach on this list, Bob Stoops has been with Oklahoma since 1999. The Sooners have stuck with him through up and down years, although most have been up. During that time, Oklahoma has reached double-digit wins 13 times and appeared in two national championship games — winning one.
Although he is rarely referred to as Big Game Bob anymore, Stoops does have eight bowl wins to claim. In addition, Stoops can lay claim to 18 All-Americans and a multitude of coaching awards. It is easy to understand while Stoops gets a pass from time to time.
We’re not done yet, though. Oklahoma has also already made an appearance in the College Football Playoff under Stoops. It is easy to see why Oklahoma is willing to compensate Stoops so well. It isn’t often that a coach can deliver such consistency in the win column, regardless of program prestige.
