Ohio State took care of business on Saturday night against Nebraska, keeping pace with Michigan and Penn State in the Big Ten East. The game was out of reach by halftime, and against a depleted Nebraska team the Buckeyes continued to put points on the scoreboard in the second half. Urban Meyer’s crew was up by more than 50 points at the time of publication, and looked like the offensive powerhouse that we’ve come to expect under Urban Meyer.

The Buckeyes were slotted in at sixth in both the AP Top 25 and the CFP rankings last week, and they will probably remain around the same area this week. The possibility is there to move up a spot in the CFP rankings, but the AP voters are not likely to move Ohio State past a Louisville team that also won on Saturday. Meyer’s team is still on track to set up a winner-take-all showdown with the Wolverines on Thanksgiving weekend, and an Ohio State team that wins the Big Ten is unlikely to be shut out of the playoff if they win out.
