College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
By halftime, the vaunted Badgers defense had already picked off Jeff George Jr. four times and built up a four-touchdown lead on visiting Illinois. While Wisconsin still lacks much of a passing game, the combination of stout defense and strong running paced the win and kept them tied atop the Big Ten West. Corey Clement and Dare Ogunbowale both rushed for over 100 yards, led by Clement’s 123 yards and three touchdowns. Illinois left Camp Randall Stadium having been held to just 200 total yards of offense.
Next week Wisconsin faces a Purdue team that fired its head coach earlier in the year and has already been eliminated from bowl eligiblity. Barring an upset in West Lafayette, the Badgers will play to lock up the division title when they host Minnesota in a Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe. After Nebraska beat the Golden Gophers, it will not be a de facto division championship game, as a loss would give the division to the Huskers rather than Minnesota.
