Group of Five: Week 11 Access Bowl Power Rankings
By Zach Bigalke
Nobody was happier than Boise State when Wyoming fell in triple overtime at UNLV, as it opened the door for the Broncos to get back in the MWC Mountain race. They did their part to keep pace, beating up on Hawaii 52-16 on Saturday. Brett Rypien completed 18 of 22 passes for 338 yards and four scores. Jeremy McNichols piled on 182 yards on 16 carries and three catches while scoring two rushing touchdowns in the rout. The defense allowed over 300 yards but snagged two turnovers to cement the win.
Boise State still needs Wyoming to lose again in order to represent the division agianst San Diego State in the MWC championship game. Should the Cowboys fall against San Diego State next weekend or at New Mexico on Thanksgiving weekend, the Broncos would lead the Mountain by virtue of their head-to-head win over the Lobos earlier this season. Given that they beat potential Pac-12 champ Washington State on the road, a 12-1 Boise State with a conference title cannot be discounted in the Access Bowl race.
